Walter “Captain Smash” Mason (79/OL-DL) **Deceased – June 5, 2017… died from kidney disease…had been on dialysis for 2yrs…wife Alison Musso answered our email search for Walter…she told us he had many fun stories about Snow College Football…and Coach Vince has great memories of coaching him…and says “he was a joy to coach.”
Isham Poe (79/WR) **Deceased – between 1980-84…found his nephew (Isham Poe) via email…he informed us of his uncles death… and he hopes we can send him pictures and info about his uncle during his time at Snow College…we will and we will invite him to attend Reunion #5.
Al “Spike” Dafgard (76/DL) **Deceased – July 2, 2019…Spike called Coach Dave in May/June and said he really wanted to attend the next Reunion…and would do all he could to be there and see all the guys…Wife Linda replied to our July 9 email about MIA’s – DVD’s – and Hotel Reservations…and informed us of Al’s passing…SAD.
Kevin Lapa (79/80) **Deceased March 1984…after he realized his lifetime goal of playing for his CFL Team…the BC Lions
Elvis Cooper (78/79) **Deceased Aug 28, 2019….after Snow attended Blacks Hills State for football…returned to Rawlins and then Texas for 30yrs working as a Hospital Staff…2 years ago had a serious fall and suffered a head injury…life flight to Cheyenne not expecting to live…hospitalized for 7mts…he was a miracle…was living on his own in Rawlins and working hard to rehab with the help of his sister Patricia and family…mother Barbara still lives where she was when we recruited Elvis…2 daughters in TX…Elvis was planning on attending Reunion #4…unable to due to his sister Patricia having a kidney transplant that weekend…and then was planning to attend Reunion #5…when he passed away 3 weeks before the Reunion.
Tom Pletch (81/82) **Deceased Oct 26 2020…Tom and Coach Paul were very good friends…and talked and saw each other regularly…his passing is a big blow to all of us…and especially Coach Paul.
